The Constructing a Life on Mars (CaLoM) is a team-based challenge that is being developed by 4wardfutures. 4wardFutures is a charity that is working to help empower young people to take more control of their futures in a world that is changing due to the impact of digital technology. We aim to do this by helping them to develop their understanding of the changing nature of work, current and future career opportunities and their employability qualities and skills through engagement with employers and professionals from a range of industrial and creative sectors.
The CaLoM challenge is based on the scenario of people working in teams to plan for a new life on Mars. In planning for a Life on Mars teams will face practical, physical, psychological, sociological and ethical challenges that they will need to research and work collaboratively to address.
Each team will present their solutions to these challenges to a panel of professionals from the space, architecture, scientific research, engineering, and construction sectors.
